ABout the project:

SG Contracting carried out demolition of an old fraternity house followed by the construction of a new 20,000 square foot residence in the heart of Georgia Tech’s campus. This $4,000,000 project was completed ahead of schedule allowing the Owner to occupy the building in time for the start of fall classes. The small site, less than a half acre, was bordered by 2 occupied residences and was adjacent to both a major pedestrian thoroughfare and a building housing Georgia Tech’s mainframe computers. These conditions created the need for phased construction to overcome the absence of staging areas. Also conducted were significant infrastructure improvements along an adjacent road, requiring detailed scheduling to work around Georgia Tech’s class schedule.
