Georgia Tech Bobby Dodd Suites

The project involved the demolition of six existing suites to create the two spaces. Vital to the project was the addition of a suspended slab exterior spectator area. The structural aspect of the project was complicated by the need to transfer the new load of the suspended slabs via new columns through 2 levels of existing spectator stands, concession areas, and the main electrical and mechanical rooms for the stadium. SG Contracting worked closely with the structural engineer, architect, and GT Athletics to craft this solution, which was simple and had minimal impact on the efficiency and flow of the stadium. The marketing suite features gathering space for 75 people and includes a new exterior viewing area, full service bar, food service area with premium millwork, solid surface counters, and a custom sculptured wood bar back. The bar back is finished in a white pearl iridescent finish. The ceiling features dropped soffits and custom painted linear metal raised tray areas. The front curtain wall slides in from both sides, allowing the interior suite to open into the viewing area when weather permits. ISP Sports plans to use the marketing suite to entertain clients as well as providing it to outside groups for special events.
