ATLANTA, May 3, 2019 — Sachin Shailendra, president of Atlanta-based general contracting and construction management company SG Contracting Inc., will speak at Georgia Highlands College Commencement on May 11, 2019.
A Georgia native, Shailendra is a graduate of Woodward Academy in Atlanta, the Georgia Institute of Technology, a member of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, and chair of the University System of Georgia Foundation.
Shailendra’s main message to graduates during the commencement ceremony will be, “Don’t ever give up. Always continue to work hard and strive to reach your goals.”
“As a graduate of two Georgia schools myself, an active leader in the University System of Georgia, and Georgia business owner, I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to speak at Georgia Highlands College’s Commencement,” said Shailendra. “Few things in life are more important than receiving an education, and it’s my honor to share this special day with students as they take the next step in building their futures.”
At SG Contracting, Shailendra has a long history of assisting owners, subcontractors, architects, and designers with new projects and renovations across Atlanta and the state of Georgia.
Shailendra also is a board member of several local youth development programs and organizations, including the Georgia REACH Foundation, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Sports Network, and the Metro Atlanta YMCA.
Shailendra has been recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as a top business and community leader in the publication’s annual “40 under 40” issue, and Atlanta Magazine has named him among its top 10 “up-and-coming” Atlantans for his efforts in progressive and proactive community building.
