This new Softball Facility includes the construction of a 3,800 SF Training Building with locker rooms and batting cages for the baseball and softball teams. Also included is the construction of a new softball field with artificial turf, two team dugouts, aluminum bleacher stands, and field netting.
The mechanical system includes a VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow zoning) system designed to reclaim energy from return air, resulting in energy efficiency. The system is also designed to work only at specific rates in demand allowing for substantial energy savings at partial-load conditions and cost savings for the school. Finishes include split-face architectural CMU façade, standing seam metal roofing, stone veneer, ceramic wall tile, and sealed concrete floors.
The building was completed on budget, with a substantial amount of cost savings passed on to the Owner. The academy’s baseball team began use as scheduled despite well over a month of weather delays.
